The 8th UME Cup Copenhagen Dragon Boat Race is set to take place on Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22, 2025.

This grand cultural and sporting event will bring excitement and festivity to the city of Copenhagen.

The race will be held at Frederikskaj 12, 2450 Copenhagen.

Event hours are from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, and from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sunday.

Note:

The Dragon Boat Festival coincides with the Copenhagen Sprint cycling race, which will take place during the same weekend.

This overlap is expected to have a significant impact on local traffic.

According to official traffic information, the Copenhagen Sprint will take place over two days: the women’s race on Saturday, June 21, and the men’s race on Sunday, June 22.

The route starts in Roskilde at the Viking Museum and goes north to Frederikssund, through Hillerød at Frederiksborg Castle and past Fredensborg out to Louisiana at Humlebæk and then down past Furesøen through Ballerup. So the route comes into Copenhagen from the west and the finish line is at the National Gallery of Denmark in Copenhagen

The roads on the route and the side roads leading up to the route will be closed approx. 60 minutes before the peloton arrives. Traffic will be opened immediately after the peloton and the support cars have passed.

In Copenhagen, traffic will be extra affected as a circular route is closed from Saturday morning to Sunday evening.

To ensure a smooth experience for all, the organizing committee offers the following important travel tips for residents and visitors attending the Dragon Boat Race:

  • Avoid driving through areas affected by the cycling race to prevent unnecessary delays.
  • If you are taking a bus or other public transportation, be sure to check and confirm your travel schedule in advance to avoid disruptions.
